Collaborators

Over the last seven years I have been making contemporary dance/live art performance. I began by making solo work but the last three years has seen me collaborate with other dancers, theatre practitioners and visual artists to develop both my dance practice and choreographic skills.

I have recently been exploring the possibilities of aerial dance specifically bungee-assisted dance. I am excited by rigging low flying aerial equipment and using counter-balancing to explore choreography in the air and on the ground. I have been participating in training to develop my skills and hope to create a new performance using a mixture of both contemporary dance and aerial performance.

Through my recent participation in the ‘Articulating Dance’ project, 2005 - 2007, at Northampton University, I have developed a deeper understanding of my own making processes through learning from artists further along their career, such as the renown dancer Gill Clark.

Between 2003-2006 I was awarded a three year Forward Thinking Artist Fellowship, which has allowed me the freedom to experiment with new ideas and challenges with support from Future Factory and Bonington Gallery, which is housed within Nottingham Trent University. During my fellowship I created five new works and commissions.

I am currently Head of Dance at Highfields School, a Performing Arts Specialist' school in Matlock and I regularly teach dance across the region working with Creative Partnerships Nottingham, New College Nottingham and the Bonington Gallery.
